Arriving in Singapore

Exploring the City
Cyan was docked at wonderful Raffles Marina while the crew got new passports and enjoyed the big city. We shopped and we bought! Shopping is a religion in Singapore. Anyone with any money in the East comes here for expensive items, especially. It wasn't bargain shopping. We did get a new Toshiba "netbook" to take as we travel and some luggage. We spent 3 weeks in Singapore and saw just about everything worth seeing after taking a "HIPPO" bus tour. The architecture is quite attractive and growth rampant. We especially liked the Jarong Bird Park, Singapore Museum and, most of all, the wonderful Botanic Gardens. They were about the best we'd seen. The orchids are the best in the world. Of course we went to the famous Raffles Hotel and Chuck got a "Singapore sling" for $17 US, $23 Sing. Whew. Lynn skipped it...tasted like hairspray!!! It was really hot in Singapore!!! They have 3 seasons. Hot, Hotter and Wet! It is also called "Disneyworld with the death penalty" because it's just immaculate and criminals don't get much of a break.
